On October 15, 2026, OpenAI removed the fixed number of Sites that Plus and Pro users could create. It lowers a project-count barrier for people building separate event pages, tools, or portfolios.

Count is not compute or storage

OpenAI explicitly retains usage and storage limits. Creating and editing sites consumes available resources; the change is not a promise of unlimited computing, unlimited space, or permanent free operation for every site. Check the applicable plan details.

Editing still needs a workflow

The September 29 updates already introduced Edit site from published Sites in a desktop browser for Plus and Pro owners and editors, plus supported recurring cloud schedules for owners. Those earlier controls should not be misreported as all newly introduced on October 15.

Create with a maintenance purpose

Separating a short-term event page from a long-term portfolio can clarify updates. Repeatedly cloning the same content can instead increase link and version maintenance. The cap change concerns quantity, while content, permissions, and release checks remain responsibilities to manage.
