On September 29, 2026, OpenAI introduced ChatGPT Pro 500 at $500 per month. It offers the highest included usage among Pro plans and GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast in ChatGPT Work and Codex.
A faster service tier
Ultrafast targets output speed and waiting time. It is not a separate, more intelligent Astra model. Usage draws on the included allowance first, then on purchased credits where applicable, so account balances and actual consumption still matter.
Eligibility within Pro
At launch, Ultrafast among personal Pro tiers was available only with Pro 500. Purchasing credits on Pro 100 or Pro 200 does not unlock it. Pro 500 subscriptions began on the web. Pro 200 also reopened for new subscriptions; affected users should follow OpenAI’s notices about allowance changes.
Compare the cost with your work
If waiting for long reasoning tasks regularly interrupts your day, measure that delay and your monthly consumption before assessing an upgrade. ChatGPT subscription benefits are separate from API billing: this plan does not make developer API requests free.
